CR-5000 Board Designer Layout, Placement and Routing 

CR-5000 Board Designer facilitates the intelligent and smooth development of printed circuit boards, allowing the designer to quickly and easily create, re-use or adapt designs. Everyday tasks are made intuitive and efficient for complex placement patterns, speeding up the most challenging implementations. Advanced interactive placement and routing tools are available – as well as fast automatic concurrent placement and automatic routing, capable of simultaneously routing multiple nets.

Constraints Management

CR-5000 Constraint Manager guides users through a fully integrated, constraints-driven design process to meet high-speed performance requirements, eliminating unnecessary prototypes and re-engineering cycles. It provides an easy-to-use spread-sheet-like user interface, supporting constraints sharing and updating, and cross-probing to schematics and layout.

Parallel Layout and Analysis

CR-5000 Lightning provides a fully integrated, complete signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC verification toolset. What-if analyses for changes to the layer stack, different track widths or track-to-track spacing, can be easily performed for optimizing single-ended or differential impedance, and crosstalk effects.

FPGA and PCB Co-Design

CR-5000 Graphical Pin Manager offers a straightforward FPGA and PCB co-design flow, from top-level HDL description to schematic symbols, as well as to the physical I/O information for layout, thus reducing design cycle time and optimizing system performance. It interfaces directly with state-of-the-art FPGA design tools Altera Quartus II, Xilinx ISE, Actel Libero, and Lattice ispLEVER.

Design Re-use

CR-5000 also supports design re-use, allowing engineers to re-utilize proven and tested logical circuits, as well as layouts, from previous projects.

Library Tools

CR-5000 Components Manager facilitates parts library management for electronic design. Standard symbols and components can be obtained from the library installed with CR-5000, and rapid creation of corporate-specific parts can be generated through the symbol and component wizards available in Components Manager.

Design Variant Management

Variant and destination management is fully embedded into Design Gateway and allows very efficient use of variant designs. The variant manager enables correct BOM and documentation of multiple assemblies from a single design.

Documentation

CR-5000 provides a documentation system for creating PDF documents configured to company requirements, with automatically generated bookmarks/hyperlinks for all parts.
