Learn What's New in Harness Builder 2027 for E3.series

Harness Builder 2027 helps engineering and manufacturing teams move harness designs into production with greater visibility and less manual coordination. The new Assembly Task Manager and Dashboard connect engineering data with digital work instructions and production tracking, helping teams manage work from design through the shop floor.

The release also expands capabilities for estimating, manufacturing documentation, component modeling, and ERP integration. Engineers can tailor reports to their needs, complete repetitive tasks faster, model harness construction more accurately, and prepare more precise estimates.

Digital Work Instructions

Assembly Task Manager transforms engineering design data into digital work instructions for production technicians. Engineers can prepare reusable task instructions with text, images, videos, and links. Based on the design’s parts list, Assembly Task Manager identifies required tasks and proposes a workflow order. Production engineers can then review and sequence the final work package.

On the shop floor, technicians see one task at a time with supporting media and a digital view of the harness. As technicians complete tasks, the Assembly Task Manager records progress and sends production data to the Dashboard for tracking and analysis.

Wire Harness Production Tracking

Dashboard gives supervisors and production managers a shared view of active wire harness builds. The Active Builds view shows project status and progress at a glance, while the Build Details view provides dates, completion charts, technician information, and task timestamps. Teams can quickly identify where a build stands and then drill into individual projects when more detail is needed.

More Accurate Harness Cost Estimates

The Cost Estimator now gives engineers more control over the estimate scope. Engineers can now generate cost estimates at the subproject level within complex, multi-harness designs. In addition, manufacturers that rely on internal cost systems can disable online pricing and instead use their own cost values.

Continuous Cable Protection Across Splices

The Cable Protection utility sizes and places tubing, loom, sleeving, and overbraid based on bundle diameter. Coverings can now continue across a splice as a single segment rather than becoming a separate component on each side. This more accurately represents the physical harness, improves length calculations, and eliminates extraneous device list entries.
