2020 was a difficult and challenging year, to say the least. So I have collected some of the highlights from our blog to look back on and spread some positive vibes that we all could use at the moment.
Laura Mirto joined Zuken in 2019, after working in the automotive wire harness design industry. She is an Applications Engineer on the customer support team who wears many hats every day, not the least of which is that of a valued member of the Zuken family. Based in her home office in Gilbert, Arizona, Laura recently talked with me and shared her story.
One thing is for sure, extraordinary circumstances require creative approaches. Like many trade shows in the Corona year 2020, the SPS - one of the leading trade shows in the area of industrial automation – had to resort to a digital format.
Alexandra Nater joined Zuken almost 10 years ago, looking for a job with the right balance of work and family after becoming a mom. Based in Switzerland, Alexandra recently took some time to sit with me and chat about her experiences here.
Meet Mark Mecca. He joined Zuken in 2019, after working in the government, pharmaceutical, and travel industries for more than 20 years. He is a software developer and talented musician who works from his home office in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Recently, he took some time from his busy schedule to chat with me about his experiences at Zuken so far.
Feumotech’s fire trucks are custom made and highly specialized. This usually equals immense development efforts. By using Zuken’s E3.series electrical engineering software, the Swiss manufacturer was able to significantly reduce the development effort per vehicle. At the same time, they were able to increase the quality of their electrical design documentation.
Due to the pandemic, the annual SPS automation trade fair will not take place physically. However, there will be an online-alternative: the SPS Connect, starting on the same day.
Lilli Schuetze joined Zuken in 2019 after completing her master’s degree at the University of Applied Science Kiel. She works as a technical marketing content author at the European headquarters in Munich, Germany.
Taras Wallace joined Zuken in 2019, having come from a mechanical background. Based in Deptford, New Jersey, USA, Taras recently took some time to sit with me and chat about his experiences here.
The Team of Zuken UK was aiming to walk the length of the UK in 7 days. That is 874 miles or 1,850,000 steps! All for a great cause.
Today we can look back on a successful ZIW Digital Germany. We all connected, shared, learned, and grew as individuals – and as a community. We were able to achieve all of this amid a global pandemic, affecting all of us around the globe.
The world that we all live in has been changed by the Covid-19 outbreak. Stay at home orders and social distancing significantly impact the way we live our daily lives. Working remotely presents a whole new set of challenges for engineers and the companies that employ us. We now work on company supplied-laptops that typically connect back to the corporate network through a VPN.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, we are all experiencing changes in our day-to-day lives. While we’re all staying safe at home, we’re now also working at home. At Zuken, we’re working with customers daily to address their business needs.
During this time of Covid-19 we’re all trying to keep the wheels of business turning, and that means that most of us are now preparing to work from home. This post points out some of the things to consider when setting up a home office, including how to set up your Zuken software.
We’re in unprecedented times, that’s one thing we know for certain. As regulations, policies, and recommendations for safe working and social interactions shift daily, we want you to know that we’re in this together and Zuken is here to help.
