EIPC Training
Don’t miss your opportunity to participate in the free EIPC training at Z-DAC 07
This year sees the return of the highly demanded EIPC training courses, where attendees can participate in two half-day sessions of training by the EIPC free of charge.
The training will be run by EIPC certified trainer, Joseph Fjelstad, and each participant will receive a certificate of participation after the event. The training sessions on offer are:
Day 2, 8:30am – 12:15pm
Printed Circuit Technology - Materials, Processes and Structures
PCBs are the electrical interconnection platform for nearly every electronic product. This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of this indispensable technology. It reviews the materials and processes that comprise the wide array of electronic interconnection substrates used today and why they were chosen. Topics include double-sides, multilayer, metal core, embossed circuits and more. Discussions will also include newer HDI/microvia and embedded passives technologies, new PCB design concepts and a brief look at the impact of lead free on PCB manufacturing.
What You Will Learn
- Brief History of PCBs
- Material and finish choices - what and why
- PCB structures - MLB, flex, MIDs, etc.
- Manufacturing processes for both standard and HDI circuits
- New developments
Who Will Benefit
This subject matter is of value to anyone in the electronics industry needing a better understanding of PCBs.

Day 3, 8:30am – 12:15pm
Flexible Circuit Technology - Materials, Structures and Design Practices
Flexible circuit technology is perhaps the most versatile of all electronic interconnection technologies. While similar to rigid PCBs, flexible circuits have unique qualities that set them apart from other interconnection structures and they thus require special knowledge to employ them successfully. Attendees will gain a solid foundation for understanding and applying this unique technology that bridges the worlds of mechanical and electrical interconnections.
What You Will Learn
- Flexible Circuit Applications
- Steps to Implementation of Flex Circuits
- Flex Circuit Materials
- Flex Circuit Design Practices
- Flexible Circuit Structures (single-sided, double-sided, multilayer and rigid-flex)
- Process overview examples
Who Will Benefit
This subject matter is of value to anyone in the electronics industry needing a better understanding of Flexible Circuits.
