Tech Tip: Using Sheet Regions for Scaling

Understanding Formboard Sheets in E3.Series

In E3.Series, formboard sheets come equipped with a drawing region that can be scaled and adjusted to fit the needs of your harness drawings better.

Creating the Drawing Sheet Area

This tutorial video will walk you through the process of creating the original region of a sheet within the database editor. This feature, known as the Drawing Sheet Area, allows you to define and customize the drawing space directly in the database.

Modifying and Scaling Drawings

The video will also demonstrate how to modify the region of a sheet in an existing project. This is particularly useful when you need to adjust the scale of an already-created drawing.

When to Scale Your Formboard Drawings

Scaling the formboard sheets region is essential in scenarios where:

  • A large harness drawing needs to fit on a smaller sheet size.

  • A small harness drawing requires scaling up on a larger drawing sheet template for better visibility.

Preserving Physical Dimensions When Scaling

Even when you scale the drawing, it’s possible to maintain the dimensions that represent the physical length of the harness accurately.
