Defining Aliases for Variants/Options
Aliases are a summary of different variant and option combinations with one name. Aliases are used to recall recurring boolean expressions by a plain text name.
Aliases for variants/options are defined in the Settings dialog. Select the Tools -> Settings command from the Main Menu bar or use hotkey S to open the Settings dialog, and switch to the Variants/Options page:
To delete an alias right-click on the button to the table's left side and select the Delete command from the displayed context menu.
Boolean expressions can be defined using the Enhanced Mode and by just typing in the defined alias.

Assigning Aliases to Objects
The boolean expression used for the alias can be assigned afterwards to the selected object(s).
To assign an alias to any object in the drawing, select the object and

right-click on the desired object and select the Assign options... command from the displayed context menu, or
-
simultaneously select several objects in the drawing and select the Assign Options... command from the Edit Main Menu bar,
-
click on the Variants/Options button in the corresponding dialog (e.g. Insert Text), or
-
open the Properties dialog of the desired object (device, symbol, text, connection, graphic, field, sheet), switch to the Assign Variants/Options tab, activate the enhanced mode and select the alias in the <alias> field under Select group, or
-
select an alias from a selection list in the Variants/Options tab of the Project window.

When working with the Project window's selection list, the following is valid:
This list offers all aliases defined in the Settings that can there be activated. All variants and options that are not contained in an Boolean expression are deactivated.
For those variants and options that are part of a Boolean expression, the following is valid:

NOT expressions (negation) are deactivated

AND expressions (conjunction) are all activated
-
OR expressions (disjunction) are all activated
All variants/options that are not contained in an Boolean expression are deactivated.
