Defining Harnesses

Connecting Installation Spaces with One Another

The installation spaces can be directly connected with one another. To do so, use the connection command:

  • Insert -> Connection in the main menu, or

  • the shortcut key C, or

  • the corresponding toolbar button Insert connection

 

The installation spaces are connected to one another using valid routing pathways. The length of the segments is due to the defined scale.

 

 

Merging and Splitting Harnesses

Individual harnesses can be merged or split.

 

To merge harnesses on a topology sheet:

  • switch to the Functional Objects tab in the Project window, right-click on the harness to be kept and select the Device Properties command from the displayed context menu.

     

  • Select the harness to be added from the Merge Harnesses drop-down list:

     

  • The merged harnesses are then displayed in the Functional Objects tree view as follows:

     

 

To split merged harnesses

  • left-click on a connect line of the harness to be split and

  • select the Split harness button from the corresponding Functional Design/Topology toolbar.

 

The harnesses are split and separated again.
