Cross-References between Assembly Elements
Text Types to Display Cross-References between Assembly Elements
It is possible to define a cross-reference for the elements of an assembly in the schematic.
The following new text types are available. These can be defined when editing symbols in DBE.
-
#1097 - Reference to assembly master
-
#1098 - Reference to assembly slave
When several slaves exist, the references are displayed one below the other as text type contents.
See example:
Defining Master Components in Database
When editing an assembly in the database, it is possible to define a component as assembly master.
To do so, select the desired component, open the Component Properties - Assembly dialog using the context menu and check the Component is master of assembly option.
This master definition is valid only for the components of this assembly. A reference via several, nested assemblies is not possible.
Remark
This property cannot be changed later on in project mode, it can only be changed in DBE mode.
Defining Master Devices in Project
In project mode, it is also possible to define a component as master.
Select the desired assembly element, open the Device Properties - Device dialog using the context menu and check the Device is master of assembly option.
Remark
This option is inactive with database assemblies.
