Placing Objects on Exact Position

When placing or moving objects, it's possible to specify the exact position on the drawing sheet.

This can be done in several ways:

  • Either right-click on an unplaced object in the Project tree and select the command Place from the displayed context menu, or

  • right-click on a placed object in the drawing area and select the command Move from the displayed context menu.

To use an exact position as final position

  • move the mouse and thus the object to the desired position according to the defined grid settings:

    • Keyboad

      • CTRL + arrow keys: Alternative grid

      • arrow keys: Working grid

      • then press Enter.

        Note:

This functionality is only possible, if the Enable panning with arrow keys option in the Pan section is unchecked (Settings -> General -> Zoom/Pan).

    • Mouse

      • CTRL + left-click: Alternative grid

      • left-click: Working grid

  • The coordinates (see red rectangle in image below) show the object's position in the working area.

  • Or use the Input Coordinates functionality to define the exact coordinates

    • by pressing the hotkey P upon dropping the object.
