Input Coordinates

When placing any objects, the coordinates can be modified using hotkey P.

The following dialog is displayed in which the coordinates can be defined absolutely or relatively to the origin (when creating polygons: relatively to the last point):

Input Coordinates

Absolute

X/Y/Z

Defines the end point for graphic elements in X/Y/Z coordinate.

The Z coordinate is only displayed and available for devices to be moved along the Z coordinate axis on a panel sheet.

Free placement

Check this option to place the device on a freely definable position.

This option is only available for devices existing in the Panel - Unplaced tab, to be placed on panel sheets.

Relative

X/Y/Z

Defines the relative modification regarding the origin.

The Z coordinate is only displayed and available for devices to be moved along the Z coordinate axis on a panel sheet.

Left Butto/Right Button

Specifies which mouse button shall be simulated: Left Button or Right Button.

Right Button

When placing a

  • symbol,

  • component or

  • block

the following menu opens upon closing the dialog box:

When placing a

  • polygon,

  • cloud,
  • field or

  • dynamic symbol

the following menu opens upon closing the dialog box:

Left Button

Upon closing the dialog box, the symbol, component or block is directly placed. The above mentioned context menu is not displayed.

Note

When placing certain graphic objects (ovals, rectangles, etc.) and texts, the Right Button aborts the command since there is no context menu available when 'normally' placing these objects.

However, a context menu is offered when placing polygons.

Defining Origin for Panel

To do so, place the origin symbol .ORIGIN on the panel sheet. The coordinates used for coordinate input in the Input Coordinates dialog (hotkey P) are always relative to this origin. I.e. when exactly one origin symbol is placed on a panel sheet and not hidden, the position data in the dialog are relative to this origin symbol's position.

Note

  • When several origin symbols are placed on the sheet, elements are placed according to the absolute origin.

  • This is valid for panel sheets only.
