Graphically Defining Shared Sheets

This functionality is only available when a E3.panel or E3.formboard license is present!

When creating shared sheets, it is possible to graphically define these shared regions, select and modify them afterwards.

To do so, proceed as follows:

  • Select the Insert -> Shared Sheet command from the main menu bar or the Insert shared panel / formboard sheet button to define the new shared sheet.

  • The Insert New Sheet dialog appears to specify shared sheet definitions such as the sheet's format or name.

  • Confirm the dialog box with OK and draw the new shared sheet. Hold the left mouse button pressed while drawing the rectangle.

  • In doing so, the region's scaling is determined. This scaling is increased by the increments defined using the Scaling increment of region option under Settings -> Panel or Settings -> Formboard.

    Note

Using the Shift button this setting can be suppressed.

Modifying Shared Sheets on Base Sheet

The size of shared regions on base sheets can be modified by selecting the area's outline handles (Display region overview option in Settings -> Panel or Settings -> Formboard must be checked.).

The same Scaling increment is valid as when creating a shared sheet.

The position of the shared region can be changed using the Move command or Drag&Drop.
