Busbars Overview
This topic shows an overview and general hints regarding the object type Busbar.
You can either use an existing busbar from the database, or create a new busbar in the database (see Component Wizard - Busbar).
Attribute Text Templates for Busbars
For busbars and busbar connections, the attribute text template symbols of cables and
Attribute text template symbols, which for example use the text type Cable in connection, display the item designation of the busbar. The text type
If attribute text templates display properties that are not available for busbars or busbar connections, nothing is displayed.
Displaying Busbars
By default, busbars are displayed as long brown rectangles on panel sheets.
The display of busbar models can be modified in the Graphic Properties in Database Editor.
On schematic sheets, busbar connections that can be assigned busbars are displayed according to the settings under Connection -> Connection Lines -> Busbars.

Signals of Busbars
Signal logic lines that are located between pins of the type busbar are displayed in a different color.
Each busbar forms its own signal network. Similarly, each signal network can be assigned only one busbar.
Note
Signal nets of busbar connections cannot be connected to other signal nets.
The following illustration shows the difference between signal logic lines of connections between busbar pins and signal logic lines of connections of other pin types with the default settings.
The line type of open signal lines can be defined under Settings - Connection - Signal Logic Lines.
The red-orange line represents an open signal logic line between two pins of the type Busbar.
The blue line represents an open signal logic line between two pins of any other pin type.
Note
Signal logic lines of busbars are not displayed on panel sheets.
