Placement - Bundle Symbols

Bundle Symbols

Default symbols for Drag&Drop actions

Defines the default symbol, which is used, when a shield symbol is dragged from the Device or Component tree view on a sheet.

Shield symbol

Defines the shielded wire.

The selection list contains all symbol names from the database, which are possible therefor.

Twisted pair symbol

Defines a twisted pair symbol (twisted wire).

The selection list contains all symbol names from the database, which are possible therefor.

Grouped symbol

Defines other wires.

The selection list contains all symbol names from the database, which are possible therefor.

Parameters for automatic placement

Minimum distance to pin

Defines the minimum placement distance to the next conductor pin.

Show bundle symbol only at connection end

When this option is checked, bundle symbols are only placed at the connection end.

Minimum distance between bundle symbols

If symbols shall not only be created on both sides, this option defines the minimum placement distance between the bundle symbols.

Note

When bundle symbols are automatically placed on a connection containing several segments, the node distance is used as minimum distance for automatic placement of the bundle symbols.

Line overlapping

The values specified under Bottom and Top determine the position where symbols are placed or elongated relative to the connect line.

When symbols are rotated by 90° and placed, Bottom defines the overlapping to the right side and Top the overlapping to the left side.

The values can range between 0 and 20 millimeters / 0 and 0,0787 inch.

The setting can be defined for the following symbols:

  • Shield

  • Twisted pair

  • Bundle

Twisted Pair

Arrow

The desired arrow type for highlighting twisted pair symbols with crossing connect lines can be selected from the drop-down list.

Arrow width

Defines the arrow head's width. The length of the arrow head is dependent on its width (the length is 2.5 times the width).

Adjust bundle symbol's size after modifying connection line's position

When this option is checked, the symbol size for shields and twisted pairs is automatically adjusted, if the connection lines are moved under the symbols.

This keeps shielded and twisted pairs clearly visible as shielded or twisted, since the symbol continues to cover the lines even if changes are made to the connection lines.

When connection lines are deleted or added, the symbol size is not changed.

Note

The arrow color used for highlighting twisted pair symbols with intersecting connect lines corresponds to the line color of the symbol's line that crosses the connect line.
