General - Update in Project - Subcircuit

SubCircuit

Attributes

Overwrite attribute values

When this option is checked and an attribute has another value (i.e. "Entry") in the database than in the project, the value from the project is replaced by the value from the database. When the attribute does not exist in the database, the attribute incl. its attribute value remains unchanged with the object.

Note

Attributes are never deleted!

Attributes of subcircuits that are saved in the database or exported as group and then imported, are overwritten upon updating only if the settings Overwrite attribute values and Overwrite attribute values for devices and symbols are active.

Text Parameters

Keep text visibility for:

Symbols/Models

Since, for example, with connector symbols, many texts are automatically hidden when placed being split, the visibility can separately be defined when updated with the database, besides the other symbol text parameters.

Text visibility can also be defined for models, i.e. the user can define whether the text visibility is taken over from the database or should remain unchanged.

When the option is checked, the visibility of these texts is not changed when executing the Update in project command.

Otherwise, the visibility is taken over according to the current database definition.

Keep other text parameters for:

Symbols/Models

When executing the Update in project command on symbols or models, the text properties (such as size, position, alignment...) modified in the drawing can be reset to their original position (according to the database description) to force the text to a new size, position, alignment, ... after being changed in the database.

Note

The following objects are not updated with Update in project:

  • Devices, connectors, block connectors, cables

Item Designation, component name and the attributes according to the settings.

  • Conductors/wires:

Conductor name and the attributes according to the settings.

  • Signals

When existing, the attributes according to the settings.

  • Sheet

Item Designation, sheet name, attributes and text parameters according to the settings and the sheet structure within the structure.

  • Symbols

Symbol designation, text parameters according to the settings and the conductor assignment.

  • Net

Signals and the attributes according to the settings.

  • Net segment

    Attributes according to the settings.

  • Sheet references

References from the project remain existing.

  • Hierarchical ports

Hierarchical port names and the reference to the second Hport cell.

  • Groups

    Attributes according the settings.

  • Connect lines

First, all lines of the group are disconnected from the other lines. The system then tries to recreate all connections.
