Edit Wire Cross-sections, Outer Diameters and Hose/Tube Diameters

Wire cross-sections, outer diameters and hose/tube diameters can only be modified in Database Editor mode (see Database Editor).

 

To display / modify wire cross-sections, outer diameters and hose/tube diameters,

• start the Database Editor and select the Edit Wire Cross-Sections, Outer Diameters and Hose/Tube Diameters... command from the Format Main Menu.

By clicking on the column's headers, the columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order.

 

Edit Wire Cross-Sections, Outer Diameters and Hose/Tube Diameters
Value	Is the value in square millimeters or circular mils.   To add an additional cross-section or diameter, select the empty Value field in the last line and type in the new entry in the field.
Type	Click in the free Type field to display a drop-down list containing the different types: Wire gauge and Cross-section. Select Wire gauge to edit a hose's/tube's diameter or Cross-section to edit a wire's cross-section.
Unit	Select the Unit field to display a drop-down list box, displaying a list of available units, namely square millimeters (sq.mm) or circular mils (circ.mils).
AWG/Imperial	Is interpreted as AWG value (American Wire Gauge), i.e. this value is only displayed in lists / drop-down menus, where an AWG value can be entered, e.g. min./max. diameter for model slots and pins.   Is interpreted as imperial value, i.e. this value is only displayed in lists / drop-down menus, where an imperial value can be entered, e.g. outer diameters for wire seals.
Description	Is the descriptive text displayed in lists and drop-down menus.

 

To delete an existing cross-section/diameter, right-click on the left (gray ) column of the table, adjacent to the cross-section/diameter to be deleted, and select the Delete... command from the displayed context menu.
