Connector Definition with Male and Female Connectors

When defining components in the database, it is possible to define a different symbol for each pin.

These different, predefined pin symbols are used instead of the default symbols.

'Symbol for Connector Pin' Attribute

These pin symbols are defined similar to the Symbol for Pin View (.PINVIEW_SYMBOL) attribute, using the Symbol for Connector Pin (.PIN_SYMBOL) attribute, which is permitted for component and connector pins.

For block connector symbols, the Symbol for Block Connector Pins (.BLOCK_PIN_SYMBOL) attribute is available.

Definition and Evaluation

All wire end symbols are offered in the Pins tab of the Component Properties... dialog after selecting the Symbol for Connector Pin attribute.

When generating a connector, the attribute is transferred to the connector pin. If necessary, it can also be changed afterwards.

When placing, the default symbol is used for the pin. If no symbol or unique group symbol is found for a group, E3.series operates as follows: the system first searches for already placed symbols, otherwise the component symbol or default symbol is used.
