Managing libraries is an industry wide requirement – it\u2019s got to be done, and done right, or the design migraine kicks in. This is why, today I\u2019m pointing the spotlight on this fundamental part of the design flow. Making library management easier and quicker, is why we created the Zuken Component Manufacturer Alliance Program<\/a>, so that E3.series<\/a> users can benefit from ready-made libraries. We\u2019ve combined this with the eCl@ss<\/a> Advanced reader to allow an even greater amount of suppliers to add their components with no effort, important for paving the way for future growth of the library components.<\/p>\n

As a result, we\u2019ve heard from existing users that they\u2019ve been able to reduce the time to create a component by 60-80%.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"eCl@ss\"What is eCl@ss?<\/h2>\n

It provides a unified and consistent classification of products, materials and services internationally (full description on the eCl@ss wiki here<\/a>). We\u2019ve been a supporting member for many years, having worked with other ECAD suppliers and component manufacturers to define the eCl@ss Advanced XML structure.<\/p>\n

What is Zuken\u2019s Component Manufacturer Alliance Program (CMAP)?<\/h2>\n

This is a world-wide library of component data from companies including ABB, B&R, Bosch-Rexroth, Deutsch, Conexcel, Finder, Harting, Igus, Klemsan, U.I.Lapp, Lumitas, Pfannenberg, Phoenix Contact, Pirelli, Schneider, Siemens, Wago and Weidm\u00fcller<\/a>. Many of these companies supply the data in a standard format, and then using the eCl@ss Advanced reader, E3.series users can have these imported into their own library. No more hunting around and re-drawing etc.<\/p>\n

Not all organizations have the same requirements, so we\u2019ve compiled three levels of service:<\/p>\n
