Position: Pre-Sales and Implementation Applications Engineer

Zuken seeks a full-time Pre-Sales and Implementation Applications Engineer to join our talented team!
You will be expected to provide application technical expertise relative to the sale, deployment, and support of Zuken’s E3.series software suite and related products. This may include creating and supporting the creation of sales, technical, and training materials. As part of sales the sales process, you will also be required to present technical materials in the form of tool demos, webinars, seminars, podcasts, and other forms of public speaking.
You will be responsible for supporting the technical success, satisfaction, and well-being of the customer. This will entail supporting technical specifications, rollout plans, and test plans. You will also work with appropriate groups within our customers to identify, communicate, and implement continuous improvements to their design process as it relates to Zuken tools and work with Zuken’s internal teams to continually improve the customer’s software environment. You will identify opportunities for Zuken’s growth and expansion within the customer. You will keep Zuken management informed of customers’ progress, successes, and failures and escalate needed resolutions where appropriate. Expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Own technical aspects of Pre-Sales deployment and support of E3.series design suite and related products.
- Lead and manage technical meetings associated with the internal E3.series Implementation
- Manage deliverables associated with the Customer Status/Touch Point meetings
- Manage deliverables associated with weekly support tasks and prioritization of tasks for completion
- On-site support and status meetings at the customer site are required
- Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions
- Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the value of the provided solution
- Engage with the customers’ development groups. Conduct technical exchanges, assist users, etc.
- Document and distribute the meeting presentation and results to Zuken
- Identify specific technical issues and follow-up, up so they can be addressed with the Business Unit.
The position requires the applications engineer to provide expertise relative to sales, deployment, and support for a wide range of industries. The initial focus area is the electrical panel design and enclosure manufacturing space, with gradual expansion into industries such as automotive, military, aerospace, machinery, power, consumer electronics, and many more… The E3.series software suite focuses on designing and verifying electro-mechanical control schematics, control panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, wiring, cabling, and wire harness assemblies. Primary job responsibilities include gathering and assessing customer requirements, presenting, and demonstrating solutions to meet customer requirements, assisting customers with implementing the E3.series solution, and providing customer support once the solution is implemented.
Minimum: Five years’ experience as a field applications engineer, design engineer, or electrical Pre-sales/Implementation engineer. Hands-on CAD experience with one or more schematic capture tools.
Preferred: Five + years’ experience as a field applications engineer focused on electrical panel design, cable, and wire harness design. Programming experience with Visual Basic and the .NET framework. Knowledge of Access, SQL, and Oracle database design, setup, and manipulation. Experience with machines, switchgear, factory automation manufacturers, or customers is a plus.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have outstanding communication skills, and can manage multiple tasks effectively. Must be capable of working in both a team environment and individually. Strong customer relation skills are a must. The ideal candidate will spend 20% to 40% on-site with Zuken customers or partners.
