Job Description

Zuken seeks a full-time Pre-Sales and Implementation Applications Engineer to join our talented team!

You will be expected to provide application technical expertise relative to the sale, deployment, and support of Zuken’s E3.series software suite.  You will be responsible for supporting the technical success, satisfaction, and wellbeing of the customer.  This will entail supporting technical specifications, rollout plans, and test plans. You will also work with appropriate groups within our customers to identify, communicate, and implement continuous improvements to their design process as it relates to Zuken tools, and work with Zuken internal teams to continually improve the customer’s software environment. You will identify opportunities for Zuken’s growth and expansion within the customer. You will keep Zuken management informed of customer’s progress, successes, and failures, and escalate needed resolutions where appropriate. Expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Own technical aspect of Pre-Sales deployment and support of E3
  • Lead and manage technical meetings associated with the internal E3 Implementation
  • Manage deliverables associated with the Customer Status/Touch Point meetings
  • Manage deliverables associated with weekly support tasks and prioritization of task for completion
  • On-site support and status meetings at the customer site are required
  • Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the value of the provided solution
  • Engage with the customers’ development groups. Conduct technical exchanges, assist users, etc.
  • Document and distribute the meeting presentation and results to Zuken
  • Identify specific technical issues and follow-up, so they can be addressed with the Business Unit.

You will also provide application technical expertise relative to the sale, deployment, and support of Zuken’s E3.series software suite to a wide range of North American industries (automotive, military, aerospace, machinery, power). The E3.series software suite focuses on the design and verification of electro-mechanical control schematics, control panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, wiring, cabling, and wire harness assemblies. Primary job responsibilities include gathering and assessing customer requirements, presenting and demonstrating solutions to meet customer requirements, assisting customers with implementing E3.series solution, and providing customer support once a solution is implemented.

Qualifications

Minimum:  Five years’ experience as a field applications engineer, design engineer, or electrical Pre-sales/Implementation engineer.  Hands-on CAD experience with one or more schematic capture tools.

Preferred:  Five + years’ experience as a field applications engineer focused on cabling and wire harness design.  Programming experience with Visual Basic and the .NET framework.  Knowledge of Access, SQL and Oracle database design, setup, and manipulation.  Experience at Automotive/OEM customers and suppliers is a plus.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have outstanding communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.  Must be capable of working in both a team environment and individually.  Strong customer relations skills a must.  The ideal candidate will spend 20% to 40% on-site with Zuken customers in the Detroit, Michigan area.
