Paste Extended (Clipboard)

After executing Paste extended imported devices, sheets, fields etc. are stored in a special Clipboard structure:

  • Sheets and fields are stored in the Sheet Tree and

  • devices in the Device Tree.

All elements are highlighted in red in this Clipboard structure tree. This means that their names already exist in project and would thus collide.

Modifications can directly and clearly be made to these red elements in the Clipboard: devices can be renamed, sheet names can be changed....

Therefore it is possible for the user to control merging the drawing and adopting into the existing project structure.

Furthermore the following functionality is possible in the Clipboard tree:

Clipboard Level
  • Merge all non-colliding

All elements (sheets, devices, fields, ...) which are non-colliding with those within the project are transferred to the project. If this option is checked Create unique sheet names the command will be active only when no sheet of this name is existing in the appropriate file of the project.

  • Merge by generating new names

New names are generated for the sheets and devices at merge.

  • Merge as view

All elements (sheets, devices, fields, ...) of the selected clipboards are merged as view with the project, if possible.

Object Level
  • Merge

Merges the clipboard with the project.

  • Merge by generating new names

New names are generated for the sheets and devices at merge.

Note

  • A time stamp when Paste extended was executed, is displayed in the Clipboard tree.

  • When the Clipboard tree no longer contains elements it is deleted.

  • When the item designation or view number is changed on a placed device / pin via the symbol properties within the Clipboard tree, it is merged immediately (if possible).
