Management of Variants and Options

E³.series: Management of Variants and Options - SCREENSHOT

Using Variants and Options reduces the number of projects and therefore the time needed to make changes.

In all E³.series modules the definition of multi-stage variants and options is supported. A separate tree makes it easy to access Variant and Option Management and displays the actual configuration. The Variant and Option groups are defined in the tree as well as the visibility of the objects being controlled in the drawing and in the dynamic bill of material.

Every Variant and Option group has its own meta-attributes to control the visibility. Like, for example, sub-group “must exist” or “exact one” sub-group is active up to a “0..n” or “1..n” relation.

Variants and options can be linked together using Boolean expressions. Aliases can be defined to replace complex Boolean expressions and to simplify the assignment to E³.series objects.

The use of variants and options reduces the number of projects and makes it easier to track modifications during the development of system platforms.
