Complete system circuit design

Today’s complex electronic products require several PCBs to work together in a single system. As part of a complete multi-board design flow that starts with System Planner and extends through PCB layout and manufacturing, Design Gateway forms a crucial link between initial design planning and PCB layout.  The design methodology of Design Gateway enables the simultaneous creation and optimization of multiple PCBs, including inter-board connectivity. The complete system is represented as a hierarchical structure with unlimited levels, supporting both top-down design entry and building of blocks bottom-up. Overall system configuration is represented by tree view, enabling continuous status overview and smooth transition between design levels, including external connectors.

Parallel circuit design and analysis

Design Gateway offers native and interactive integration with a wide range of signal integrity (SI), analog, digital, and multi-technology verification tools, and through this integration also supports the co-simulation of analog and digital functional blocks and programmable devices.

FPGA and PCB co-design

The Graphical Pin Manager offers a straightforward FPGA and PCB co-design flow, from top level HDL description to schematic symbols, as well as to the physical I/O information for layout, thus reducing design cycle time and optimizing system performance. It automatically creates multi-instance split FPGA symbols from BSDL and pin constraints data. Pin attributes are shared through circuit, layout, and FPGA. Graphical Pin Manager interfaces directly with state-of-the-art FPGA design tools Altera Quartus II, Xilinx ISE, Actel Libero, and Lattice ispLEVER.

PDM/PLM integration

Design Gateway features native integration with Zuken’s DS-2 ePLM system. For other PDM/PLM systems, an integration kit is available.
