CR-8000 is Zuken’s advanced system level PCB design platform, created to manage the complete PCB design process from design entry to manufacturing preparation on an enterprise-wide scale. It offers highly sophisticated functionality for the design of a wide variety of board types. DFM Center ADM provides manufacturability checking in parallel with the layout process.

CR-8000 DFM Center is Zuken’s manufacturing pre-processing and CAM editing solution which covers the complete manufacturing process from acceptance checking to etching correction to finishing checking and fabrication control. DFM Center also supports bidirectional native layout data exchange with CR-8000 Design Force and CR-5000 Board Designer, as well as import of design rules.

Manufacturability Verification

In the design of PCBs, manufacturability checks are difficult to perform manually and are often made after the design process is completed, causing design cost increases and production delays, furthered by increasing global design and manufacturing collaboration. In contrast, the constraints-driven design process of CR-8000 can be complemented with parallel DFM methods throughout design and manufacturing. Design rule checking (DRC) within the layout process, and as a final check before manufacturing data creation, is a cost-effective way to improve the yield in board manufacturing.

Production Preparation

To manufacture PCBs right-the-first-time, comprehensive and verified manufacturing data is a must. CR-8000 DFM Center provides complete manufacturing panelization pre-processing functionality and manufacturing data checking. Gerber and drill data, as well as test point data, is automatically produced from CR-8000 Design Force. DFM Center supports the final inspection of all design data (nonconductive layers, symbol marks, solder resist, metal mask), creation of hierarchical panels and cutting data, and easy addition of document layers, including magnified figures. Panelization includes step & repeat and mixed panel support. Manufacturing data can be written in all relevant formats, such as extended Gerber (RS274X), extended NC Drill (Excellon), IPC356-D, or IPC-2581. Simple or complex bills of material (BOMs) can be created for the complete design or each design variant.
