Design Data Analysis
During the product lifecycle there are many changes which call for impact analysis activities. Some of the very first questions are always:
- Where is this design already being used?
- Which project is being affected by this Design Data change?
Data management analysis and the reuse of existing information is something every business — no matter how small — needs to address. Whether your needs are as simple as sharing a document with another employee or as complex as sharing data with thousands of people, the key to streamlining the process is to define a data management analysis and design reuse plan, which should consist of at least the following:
- Design data analysis and reuse - a design data management approach and project management structure that enables work groups, departments or clients to access analyzed design data that has been centrally maintained and verified.
- Design data mining search functionality that goes as deep as the raw data level and extracts what you are looking for - include analyzing and reporting capabilities
- Verified design data archiving - particularly important to industries that have to maintain compliance with regulatory audits
- Design data transfer/access to allow users to work from any computer around the world without having to perform time-consuming applications reinstalls
- Analyzed and verified Design data reuse with different approaches: reuse, share and move
The built in functionality within Zuken’s e-PLM solution means that with just "one mouse click" it can identify the projects which are using the selected and verified Design Data.
