CADSTAR Placement Planner
CADSTAR Placement Planner offers engineers an opportunity to conduct placement studies and verify design requirements early in the design process. As high-speed requirements become more stringent, placement of critical components has become a necessity. Placement Planner allows creation or import of board outlines from mechanical systems, and conduct placement of components with design rules and constraints to insure vendor guidelines are implemented correctly.
A spreadsheet based table for the layers stack-up is available to quickly specify the layer count, materials, and layer pairs to support definition of build-up technologies. This includes the ability to assign spacing classes and other design rules to help meet manufacturing requirements.
CADSTAR Placement Planner can also take circuit reuse information and start the placement of reuse blocks in a design layout. With options to copy and paste placement of replicated circuits, or use of wizards to automate complete placement of a board, engineers can effectively communicate design intents to PCB Designers and reduce design time during layout.
