Managing Component Libraries

Managing Component LibrariesThe EDA Library Master Module of the DS-2 PLMready solution is the main Module to manage all CAD library data and supports multiple locations, sites, libraries and different versions of a CAD library. It unifies all the libraries with the corresponding component data from the Component Master Module and ensures a controlled synchronization to the E-CAD environment. The built-in change management process ensures detailed transparency of each library object change, such as pad stack, package, footprint, symbol, gate, etc.

Highlights include:

  • Register part / pin assignment / gate / footprint specification / check functionality of data while creating the library
  • Share library data across the enterprise
  • Distribute library to any location
  • ECN / ECR / ECO on all library entity Levels
  • Search on all library levels
  • Search across departments / divisions / locations
  • Search for companywide harmonized components
  • Provides where used Information
  • Attach documents
  • Displays all level of library entities
  • Browse library data directly from with CR-5000 System Designer
  • Total control of library data – company-wide
  • Check range of use for library data (to product)
  • Complete history of library changes and versions / revisions
  • Import / export / distribute CR-5000 library data
  • Collaborate with ECN / ECR / ECO systems

Zuken’s proven repository technology provides significant benefits in today's constantly changing development and library environment by allowing technical independence.

Benefits

  • Single source environment to share EDA library data with multiple sites
  • Single source environment to maintain and register library elements
  • Reuse of existing library elements across locations, sites and groups
  • Synchronizing CAD library data within each site
  • Standardization of library registration flow
  • Keep track of library model changes and any resultant impact on the consuming projects
  • The world's only Change Process Management solution specifically designed for library and components that provides rigorous and highly automated implementation controls, ensuring that changes to library objects are synchronized within the specific location / project.
  • Zuken’s EDA Library Management solution (ELM) provides specific support for library maintenance and part creation that enables you to maximize the investment in your libraries.

Central E-CAD Library Management

Zuken’s EDA Library Management solution (ELM) provides comprehensive information on all geometry and symbols, which can be supported in multiple sites and within specific library classes. This makes it easier for existing or prospective library users to assess what components are available centrally and across library classes (both within the organization and with third parties). Users are then able to identify the state of the component in the development cycle and which other development groups are consuming them.

 E-CAD Library Management

ELM encourages library development and maintenance from inside and outside the 'traditional' library architecture. A library can be assembled from potentially hundreds of models, each containing many objects that need to be managed (pad, pad stack, package, footprint, etc). This can cause problems when attempting to assess the impact of a component change or when attempting to see what components are used by a project.

Zuken’s ELM solution simplifies this task by viewing and relating library objects across models and even across multiple locations / sites. Powerful usage and reporting tools ease the assessment of specification and component changes and provides rapid impact analysis for the consuming project(s). When combined with external partners, Zuken’s ELM solution has a unique ability to send / receive, view and control all objects from these external partners, wherever they are located. This improves the speed, effectiveness and assessment of all aspects of component change coming from external partners.

E-CAD Library Harmonization across multi sites

It has become common practice for  companies over recent years to merge or split to maximize profitability. As a result engineering departments are increasingly required to consider how to share designs or libraries with a new company or development group, calling for thorough harmonization efforts.

 E-CAD Library Harmonization

With Zuken’s unique library class model, it is very easy to harmonize libraries across sites, locations or even organizations at any time. This unique approach helps engineering departments and is already well accepted within component sourcing departments where component cost, quality and maturity plays a big role in relation to cost optimization.

Location specific Library Synchronization

Location specific Library SynchronizationIn order to support dispersed development organizations on either a local or global scale it has to be ensured that each development site will receive the required library including the mapping of the material master information. Zuken’s DS-2 ELM module encourages library development and maintenance from inside and outside the 'traditional' library architecture and location.

This ELM module simplifies the task by viewing and relating library objects across multiple locations / sites. Powerful usage and reporting tools ease the assessment of specification and component changes and provides rapid impact analysis for the consuming locations / sites. When combined with external partners, Zuken’s ELM solution has a unique ability to send / receive, view and control all objects from these external partners, wherever they are located -  improving the speed, effectiveness and assessment of all aspects of component change coming from external partners.
