Zuken Takes Next Step to Advance its High-Speed Design Flow by Joining the Synopsys HSPICE Integrator Program

September 17, 2008, - Munich, Germany; and Westford, MA, USA – Today Zuken announced that it has joined the recently launched Synopsys HSPICE® Integrator Program as part of the company’s ongoing strategy to advance its high-speed design flow and increase capabilities for simulation of highly complex electronics circuits. By committing to participation in this program, Zuken is able to further develop the already deep integration between their own design solutions and Synopsys’ HSPICE simulation tool.

With more than 20 years experience working with HSPICE-based simulation in the design process, Zuken recently broadened the scope to include HSPICE signal integrity analysis in the CR-5000 Lightning high-speed design and analysis solution; in addition to Zuken’s existing built-in IBIS-based SI simulation engine.  For users of Zuken’s CR-5000 solution working on the most advanced designs, Zuken’s aim is to leverage this program participation to integrate CR-5000 Lightning more tightly with HSPICE.

“HSPICE is widely recognized as the preferred signal integrity simulator for sophisticated buffer technologies such as pre-emphasis and equalization," noted Werner Rissiek, General Manager Engineering Europe, Zuken. “Therefore, a smooth link to HSPICE is vital for some of our customers doing high-end design. By joining the HSPICE Integrator Program, in the future we can utilize the HSPICE integrator application programming interfaces (APIs) to allow us to continuously develop our cross tool integration to keep pace with the ever advancing industry needs – to better enable our customers to perform advanced design and verification more quickly and efficiently.”

"High-speed package and board designers trust HSPICE for their silicon-to-package-to-board-to-backplane signal integrity simulations," said Bijan Kiani, vice president of Product Marketing at Synopsys. "Working through the HSPICE Integrator Program (HIP), Synopsys and Zuken are now providing mutual customers with a tightly integrated CR-5000 Lightning and HSPICE design flow to address today's toughest signal integrity design issues."

To enhance links with HSPICE, Zuken recently made further improvements to the latest version of CR-5000 Lightning, their core high-speed design and analysis environment; these improvements allow encrypted models to be handled much more easily.

About Synopsys HSPICE Integrator Program
Synopsys, Inc. launched in March 2008 its HSPICE Integrator Program to further promote integration between Synopsys’ HSPICE simulation solution and other electronic design automation (EDA) products. The HSPICE Integrator Program enables qualified EDA vendors to integrate their products with the de facto standard HSPICE simulator, HSPICE RF simulator, and WaveView Analyzer. In addition, HSPICE integrator members like Zuken have access to HSPICE integrator application programming interfaces (APIs). Collaboration between Zuken and Synopsys through the HSPICE Integrator Program enables Zuken customers to achieve more thorough design verification in a shorter period of time from the improvements offered by inter-company EDA design solutions.

About CR-5000 Lightning
CR-5000 Lightning provides a complete and integrated solution for high speed PCB design and SI analysis. It supports the entire design flow from pre-design ‘what-if’ analysis, constraint entry and verification during schematic design, through to concurrent SI verification during layout and final design validation.
