IBIS Series Modelling Enhancements

Import

The import into the simulation library of devices from IBIS data that contain series models has been enhanced so that the devices contain a reference to the series models. If the device is then assigned to a part or component in the design, the series models will be considered. This can result, for example, in two or more separate electrical nets being joined into a single electrical net, just as they are with any other passive element.

Connective Elements

A new Connective Elements branch has been added to the tree view for any components and parts with passive elements

Note that the name of the connective element is created from the component name and the names of the pins that it connects.

Modelling Tab

The following new columns have been added to the Modelling tab. These replace the old Pin Model column, although the Pin Model column is still available and can be added into the spreadsheet manually.

  • Input Model
  • Output Model
  • Connective Model

Tree View Icons

New tree view icons have been added for pins. These are used for active pins which are also connected to series models.

IC Editor

Within the Simulation Library Manager, the IC editor has been enhanced to allow series connective elements, such as IBIS Series Models.

You can now assign series models between individual pins of the IC device. Furthermore, the active model selection has been improved by using the model selection dialog, as in other application areas as well.
