Drill Oversize Tolerance

When drilling a board, there is often some slight movement when the drill impacts the board, causing the drill hole to be slightly off centre on the pad. Because the pad is almost always larger than the drill hole, this generally does not cause any problems.

When Suppress Inner Layer Pads is activated it becomes more important to cater for the uncertainty in the exact drill hole position

.

The value entered in Drill Oversize is additional to the drill hole diameters set for pads. All interactive portions of CADSTAR (routing, drawing, etc), and all error checking (drc, various reports) will automatically use the Oversized value, while all other functions will continue to use the actual drill size (eg export to cpa, post process, etc). The only exception being that export to rif will use the oversize value, such that routing in P.R.Editor will use that oversized value, ensuring consistent routing and error checking between CADSTAR and P.R.Editor.
